Mount Pleasant Meadows Update, March 25, 2014 - A group of thoroughbred and quarterhorse men and women in Mid-Michigan reached an agreement today with the Isabella County Fair Expo Board to convert and conduct Mount Pleasant Meadows as a training center.  The track and barn areas will be maintained by the County and stalls will be available beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Stall rental is $1 per day, payable in advance. There will also be overnight lots for RV and motorhomes at the training center for $10 per night. Timed works will also be available and details regarding official works will be announced as soon as possible.

The new Mount Pleasant Meadows Training Center will be especially welcomed news for many mid-state trainers who will be entering horses at Hazel Park. This availability of this training center will have a positive impact on horse supply for Hazel Park in June.

For more information, please contact Ron Sanders at 989-560-1788.

Tentative Racing Schedule for 2014 - Michigan HBPA is negotiating a contract for races at Hazel Park in Detroit for 2014. They have indicated that the Quarter Horses and Arabs will be welcome and allotted 2 races per day as in the past 2 years at MPM.

The first day of racing is scheduled for Sunday, June 29 – after that racing will be held every Friday and Saturday evening beginning July 4th through Oct 11th with a normal post time of 7:00 PM

This is an opportunity for flat track racing to showcase the excitement of TB, QH & Arab racing so we hope you will all come out and support racing in Michigan. We ask all our horsemen to support these dates by having their horses ready to enter so we can put on a great show for the bettors!

The track will hopefully be available for training in June if our weather ever cooperates!
